APPLICATIONS WILL OPEN 02.01.16
Name: The name or handle you prefer to go by
Over the age of 18? What it says on the tin. Redshift is a game that deals with mature themes and has a hard player age limit of 18 years old.
Your preferred contact: Let us know what the best and preferred way to get ahold of you is (dreamwidth journal, plurk, email, etc)
Other Characters: If applicable
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: The character's full name in western order
Canon: Please list the canon your character is from; OCs list "original". Please note if your character is a CRAU, fandom OC (see FAQ), malleable protagonist, etc.
Canon point: The canon-point from which you are taking your character.
Age: There is currently a minimum appable age of 10 years old, relative. If mental and/or physical age are different, please note that here (ie/ character appears 20 but is actually 200).
Species: Your character's species.
Appearance: You may include one (non-GIF) image here. You may include a brief physical description, particularly if your character is from a non-visual medium, an OC or has traits that may not be immediately noticable from a single image. There is no length limit, but this is not considered integral to your app and keeping it short and sweet would be ideal!
Background: Your character's setting and history as are applicable to understanding them. Canon characters may include a wiki link to both if one is available, while players apping original characters will need to include a write up of each. Setting merely needs to give us an idea of the type of world your character is from, whereas history will give us an idea of what they have been through. This doesn't have to be a blow by blow of their life's events, but should focus on the events that shaped or were otherwise important to them.
Personality: The most important section! Tell us what your character is like: what makes them who them are, their quirks, their fears, and preferences. What kind of person is this, and what kind of presence do they have? Explain their strengths and weaknesses. We want to see a well-rounded description of a character, and one that exhibits a solid understanding of them. Assume we don't know the first thing about them, even if they're from a popular or well-known canon! It's not REQUIRED, but references to instances or events in their canon, such as in the history, are a great way to illustrate what your character is all about.
Abilities/Skills: In a list format, provide specific abilities and skills of your character, with a brief description if necessary. This should include supernatural abilities such as magic, but also technologically based abilities, such as if they are wearing power armor. More 'mundane' skills should also be noted (fighting ability, skilled pilot, great at math). Anything that informs what it is your character can do. Magic spells, powers or otherwise not-baseline normal abilities should be fairly detailed as to how powerful they are and what their limitations are. You will not be allowed to use powers not listed in some capacity here so be thorough.
Inventory: Your character's inventory. When pulled through the gate, your character will be bringing with them anything they are touching. Provide a complete list of items brought with the character. As noted on the TDM, characters will only be allowed to initially bring to Station Red the items they can carry. Please note what in your inventory your character plans on carrying with them to the Quarantine Zone....everything else will be left behind for later retrieval (specifically large objects).
While your character CAN bring dangerous weapons and armor, the caseworkers at Station Red reserve the right to temporarily confiscate anything seen as too dangerous. This is unusual, however.
Please see the FAQ for details on what can be brought with them.
SAMPLES
We would like to see links to a minimum of two samples. These may be from any source, and of any variety, but they should ideally provide us with both examples of dialogue and prose, as well as both action and introspection. More samples is better, so feel free to provide extra links if you have them.
